Global Services Ltd was founded in 1995 when its primary aim was to supply engineering spares to the super-yacht industry. To achieve this the company took great care to select people with a marine engineering background and the same people remain with us today. The company has continued to grow at a steady rate and the level and range of spares and equipment has broadened to include all areas of a yachts requirements. We have backed this expansion with professionals employed to support each of these areas of activity.
Over the years we have had to change and develop the way we work to match the demands of the industry. In today’s computer driven world we took the decision to invest in bespoke software to develop a system that will give crew and management companies the ability to order on line, to see the status of their orders, and to be a key player in the ordering process.
Transparency for owners and crew has become an important requirement. In response to this we have adopted an open book policy giving a very clear overview of our charges. We have also incorporated the facility for the crew to run reports to assist them in budgeting and financial forecasting.
Our new build supply facilities have also grown and we are one of a very few companies who are capable of meeting the requirements of Mega yachts in an organised and structured way. As part of this we ensure all items supplied by Global are labelled, bar coded (when required), and boxed into the storage system being used onboard. If need be we will also carry the goods on board.
In the development of the new build business we have established methods of handling the complexities of VAT and Customs for our customers. We also have facilities for long-term storage thus providing a shore based solution where space is at a premium or seasonal storage is required.
