Some facilities in the UK have been banned from screening UPS air freight due to security issues, it was announced today. The government would not give specific details but has said that the ban will be lifted once UPS "has satisfied current security requirements".
UPS has acknowledged that this will cause delay on the movement of some packages and that contingency plans are underway. As yet, the ban has not effected Global Services. Bob Talbot, Global Services Business Development Manager commented, "We are monitoring the situation and using alternative methods to meet customer requirements".
