Portable Document Format (PDF) and the Adobe Reader

You can view PDF documents in almost any Web browser. All you need is the Adobe Reader plug-in. All PDF documents on our website require Adobe Reader version 5 or later, however we highly recommend updating to the most recent version available . The reader, a free application distributed by Adobe Systems, can be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html for Windows, Mac, or Linux.

Can I save the document straight to disk?

In Windows you can do this by right-clicking on the link and selecting "Save Target As.." or "Save Link As..." from the menu which appears. You can then choose the desired location from the "Save As..." dialogue and click the "Save" button to start downloading the file.
