Although not winning any major prizes in either competition the players that took part certainly didn’t disgrace themselves.
Finishing in the top half of the competition on both occasions.
The Yachting Pages Tournament was held at the Golf de la Grande Bastide course. Global was represented by Bob and Ron. Neither of whom had played the course before.
Both recording a net 79.
21 teams arrived to register very early on the 2nd October in time for an 8.15 start.
The day was blessed with sun throughout.
Thursday 15th Oct was the first day of play for Pinmar on the Island of Mallorca. Richard Gardiner dressed as a Nun with his conspirator Roger from E3 were out to raise money for the annual charity. Over the two days the amount they raised was amazing. Over €2000. This came from donations for drink supplied.
Global services and Cathelco joined ranks to form Team Global/Cathelco. Bob and Sam from Global with Laurie and Chris representing Cathelco.
After a 6.00 start to get to the course on the Friday morning for an 0800 start.
18 holes later Sam and Laurie returned a net score of 81 with Bob and Chris on 66.
The tournament was rounded off with a Gala dinner at the Islands Casino. The entertainment being the show Come Fly with Me and the theme for the evening 'The Rat Pack'
